Gary Johnson: Marijuana makes the world a better place

And he is Pro-Abortion and Pro Gay Marriage.

At the 3:36 minute mark.

The Non-Values Candidate. Talk about a vote backed by ethics... o_O Especially since he was the CEO of a Pot Company. Hard to tell by listening to him...not.

Libertarians are often perceived as being for same-sex marriage and abortion, simply because they don't feel the government should be involved with it. I haven't actually heard what his positions on those issues are.

I do have a bit of a problem with the pot thing. It's not that I'm so terribly against pot itself; but it is illegal in most states, and I would be concerned about a candidate that used a lot of any drug, including alcohol.

So yeah, the more I learn about Johnson the less I like him

This election just plain sucks.

At least all the parties put us crap candidates this go around, even the non-party party.

He is asked about same sex marriage and his pro abortion stance right after the pot question. Same video.

So Mr. ethics, how do you feel about alcohol, you know the drug that causes 88,000 deaths in the united states?

"It should be left up to the woman. If my daughter were pregnant and she came to me and asked me what she ought to do, I would advise her to have the child. But I would not for a minute pretend that I should make that decision for her or any other woman."

“Certainly, religions and people of various faiths have the right to view marriage as they wish, and sanction marriage according to those beliefs. Just as government shouldn’t interfere with individual rights, government should not interfere with how marriage is treated as a ceremony, a sacrament or a privilege within a set of religious beliefs. However, when it comes to the rights of individuals and couples under the law, government’s promise should be to insure equal access to those rights to all Americans, gay or straight.

For a very long time, society has viewed gay marriage as a moral and, yes, religious issue. Today, I believe we have arrived at a point in history where more and more Americans are viewing it as a question of liberty and freedom. That evolution is important, and the time has come for us to align our marriage laws with the notion that every individual should be treated equally.”

Thanks for the promotion, but I thought we were all touting ethics earlier. How do I feel about alcohol? I'd feel the same about it if it was illegal. Alcohol has done nothing good for society, but it is not unlawful to possess it. So what should we do? Throwing something else on top of the pile of destructive substances will help? That's the answer to the woes of society?

Then why stop there? And there is NO QUESTION that it wouldn't stop with the legalization of pot. Just like every other issue, it is only opening the door wider and wider to legalize anything and everything that one can claim will not harm anyone but the person doing it. I don't have any illusion that pot will not be legalized nationwide in my lifetime, but I refuse to have my fingerprints on it, especially with a new grandchild in this world.

I don't have a problem with the decriminalization of simple possession.

I don't think we should have pot shops on every corner,
but if people want to grow it for their own medical use...

Well then it's none of mine nor the government's business...

:dunno:

Ethics is not a term exclusively owned by people who agree with you on every subject. Just pointing that out.

I would agree with that, but since I was knighted as such I thought it fair game. But you do have a point. Even Satan has his own Bible and Commandments.
