EPA reports trace of radiation reaches Alabama

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Environmental Protection Agency says trace amounts of radiation from the damaged Japanese nuclear plant have shown up in Alabama.

How can they be sure it's from Japan? (No, I haven't clicked the link yet.) According to all the news reports, we are surrounded by a certain amount of radiation daily.
