Email Provider?

OK, my 20 year old email has finally reached saturation with all the span sites that have discovered it and according to one of my security scans, its been located on the "Dark Web"

It's a Hotmail address, and I'm trying to decide between using a free service again or going with a domain/email provider. Problem is that the domain/email is pretty expensive if I have several emails (mine, wife's family, etc). (Like $6 / month / email account )

However, I'm concerned that "Free" email is being paid for somehow... either the ads or by data mining *my* messages.

I don't like using the internet provider email as it makes it hard to change providers when the rates get too high. We've been stuck on sucky ATT DSL/Uverse for years because my wife doesn't want to give up her address.

So... what email provider are you using, do you like it, and why?

I use Microsoft Exchange Online with my own domain. It's $4/month for a full Exchange mailbox (mail, calendar, contacts, tasks, activesync). It works great aside from my OCD issues with the web interface. Even better is I don't have to pay for it. :)

Another cheaper option is Zoho mail (https://www.zoho.com/mail/zohomail-pricing.html) at $1/month/user.

Yet another option is Rackspace Mail (https://www.rackspace.com/en-us/email-hosting/webmail/pricing). It's $4/month/user for the Plus version but you can get it cheaper (half off, I think) if you ask for the Spiceworks discount. They have a $10/month minimum billing amount though so one or two mailboxes wouldn't get to the minimum.
