DOJ is absolutely correct. If you can park at Walmart you can park at church. The government may not restrict the exercise of religion in a manner that other activities are not restricted even in a pandemic.

I read that on one of these cases, there was a Sonic down the street that was conducting drive-in service, yet the church was not allowed to.

I don't doubt it. Unfortunately, a lot of people are letting their bored kids play together at drive in church. but that doesn't give the government the right to ban it. They could write tickets to the kid's parents, but then they would have to actually confront the parishioners. You can't ban something just because someone "might" break the law unless you ban it in every instance.

Let's face it, for the non-churched, church is not "Essential" It's an anti religious bias.

However, I don't see any Muslim churches getting closed by force. Just sayin' .

One of the reasons my church scrapped the drive in church idea for now was that the kids wouldn't understand why they couldn't get out of the cars and play with their friends.

This has been very hard on children.
