Does Trump really want to win another 4 years?

I think this is a bigger question that many assume the answer to. (i.e. yes)

I feel that even if he didn't want to win, he wouldn't quit, his ego wouldn't let him.

However, this entire Greenland thing is making me consider that he's trying to shake off the middle of the road voters. Those and his other tweets this week seem totally off the wall. I mean come on, quoting someone that called him the King of Israel? Calling off a trip to Denmark because they won't sell him Greenland?

Will Trump's ego allow the Democrats to win because the GOP won't have a candidate that wants to win?

Wow do I wish someone would run against him in the primary.

I'm not convinced he really wanted the first 4 years. Even if he did, I can't imagine why anyone would want that job especially someone that is already financially secure. The stress has to be insane.

Someone running against him in the primary would do nothing unless he just went completely bonkers.

I like Trump in that he's called the media out for their bias against the republican party. I have no idea why he's willing to put up with the stress of being president. I'd retire and play golf and just chill if I were in his shoes.

As odd as the purchase of Greenland may be to some, it's not the first attempt by a U.S. Administration

News that President Donald Trump is interested in buying Greenland prompted mockery on Thursday when it was first reported by the Wall Street Journal.
But it wouldn’t be the first time a President has sought to buy Arctic land from another country: In 1867, President Andrew Johnson bought Alaska from Russia for $7.2 million.
It wouldn’t even be the first time the U.S. has tried to bag Greenland. Back in 1946, officials offered Denmark $100 million in gold bars for the world’s largest island, a Danish autonomous territory. U.S. officials at the time thought it was a “military necessity.”
That 1946 offer was supposed to be a secret. (It was only widely revealed in 1991, when declassified documents were discovered by a Danish newspaper.) But in 1947, TIME caught a whiff of similar plans.

It's one of the things I like about Trump. He thinks outside the box and couldn't give two craps what the media or anyone else thinks. Owning Greenland and having a strategic advantage in that part of the world would be advantageous to the U.S. and I firmly believe that Trump has the U.S. interest at heart every day and twice on Sunday.

Here's where people underestimate the Trumpster, he loves his country and feels he's the only GOP candidate willing and able to stand up against the inner corruption and evil permeating every crack and crevice of Washington DC. Of course he wants to run and win, he's not willing to risk handing over the reins to the crackpot Dems. He knows the GOP has nobody in the on-deck circle ready to fight and win.

I've tried to figure Trump out, he's completely different from any other president we've had.

I don't think he gives two craps what anyone thinks of him. This is both good and bad. Good because he does what he believes in, regardless of whether or not it's popular, and bad because he has zero interest in being tactful or improving his ratings.

I think a lot of his statements and tweets are intentionally outrageous to keep himself and his administration out in front of the news. And it works for him; study after study shows that he gets more free media coverage than anyone. Unfortunately, this is also very polarizing to the electorate, and this makes it easy for the Democrats to further divide our country.

He must want the job, I see no reason he would do this unless he genuinely felt called to lead the country. His wealth has actually gone down considerably since becoming president, partly because he is president. He could have easily turned his business over to his kids or sold out and all of them lived very well for the rest of their lives.

I thank God every day that he beat Hillary; I still truly believe that had she won, our country would have been dramatically changed by now, and not in a good way. But at the same time, I am tired of the hate and division. We need a leader who can lift this nation up and bring us together. Ronald Reagan, we need you now.

I agree that he has our best interests (as a country). But, if he wants to win, why cancel his trip to Denmark over Greenland? Why not go on over and try to negotiate a deal in person? Why all the Tweets at all? He just doesn't act like he wants to win.

I've talked with several people who don't want to vote for a crackpot Dem, but Trump has scared them with his crackpot behavior to the point that they don't feel they can vote for him either.

Dang if the Dems manage to use the superdelegate system to get a candidate that is even remotely electable, Trump could be in trouble.

I'm perfectly willing to consider other candidates and am anxiously awaiting to see which ones complete the gauntlet. I certainly don't agree with everything Trump does, specifically his Tweets and off-the-cuff comments, but I don't see any other electable options at the moment.

Trump is far from perfect, but the Supreme Court is at stake. I look for RBG to retire within 4 years and a republican naming her replacement would be more valuable to the nation than any unpleasantries associated with voting for Trump.

Question is...is there another Republican who can win?

As much of a mess as Trump is in some ways, he might be our best bet to keep the Dems out.
I think there are a couple of folks. This country isn't ready for full bore Socialism, and that's what 20 of the 25 leftists are selling. Everyone points to Nikki Haley and I agree.

What's so unfortunate now is that that it's the personality, not the policy that sells.

I don't think he gives two craps what anyone thinks of him.

Many people say this and it confuses me. Given how he responds to anyone that says anything even remotely negative about him shows me that he does care and it is probably largely what drives him.

Part of this is due to no politician having to really answer any questions these days. They (both sides) only do interviews with 'reporters' that agree with them and who don't typically push back when politicians give spin for answers.

Republicans have stabbed their voters in the back time and again on policy... that's how you got Trump.
