How Obama-era budget controls have hurt US military readiness against growing China, Russia, Iran threats

The United States military still reigns as the most preeminent one in the world, but a new report exclusively obtained by Fox News shows that sustaining that superiority is far from guaranteed as the Pentagon still trudges through budget cuts put in place almost a decade ago.

It's true they have weakened our military every time they are in the WH. I remember during the Clinton years there was not enough funding for us to have annual weapons qualifications.

We went into Viet Nam severely under-gunned. I remember reading that in many cases, we were flying prop planes against Russian jets. If I recall, the F-4 was rushed into production to even the odds.
 
If they would spend their money on something other than a fighter that's 10 years behind schedule and still not fully operational, and battleships that can't pass sea trials then perhaps we could have the guns and vehicles we need. If it isn't built by Boeing, Lockheed, GD, or another big reelection donor, Congress isn't interested.

There is a whole lot of truth in that. Some of these programs are never ending money pits. I am 110% pro military but 120% anti government waste of tax dollars. As for Lockheed in particular since I am somewhat familiar with them. I knew a guy who worked there 40 years. He made a living on government military contracts, mostly the C-130 and C-5 Galaxy. Yet he was so brainwashed by the unions that he was a die hard Democrat. I never understood how he could vote himself out of a job. Concerning the OP the new regime will absolutely weaken the military to kiss the ass of their out of touch constituents.

Interest on the national debt is on schedule to exceed defense spending in 2024. Is anyone talking about that?
