I saw a meme on Facebook claiming the man changed his name and did some pretty radical stuff in years past. I initially dismissed it, as anyone can make a meme and put whatever BS they want on it.

I then decided to research it, and the information on the meme was correct!

DeBasio's real name is Warren Willhelm Jr. According to what I found, he has actually had three legal names, and now goes by DeBasio. https://www.nydailynews.com/news/election/de-blasio-names-de-blasio-article-1.1463591

I can't help but wonder if NY City knew who and what this guy was when they elected him?

I could understand why he changed his name to his mother's family surname... I have known young men who considered it based on the inadequate, selfish and destructive person their father's were. When that relationship is gone, and the father does nothing for the family, why have the father's surname? When your mother nurtured and raised you and did all the true work to keep the family going by herself, I can see the point in using her surname.


Then again, nothing quite like having the name Wilhelm and calling for the control of Jews errr ....the peasants.... errr capitalists... and supporting a Marxist–Leninist ruling government ... it sort of screams Nazi.... No? We've all seen that picture show.
