If true, I also think the restaurant management was wrong in requiring that they remove their masks. He probably has the legal right to do so, but it was a jerk move. The customers should make that choice for themselves.

I'm so tired of the extremism on both sides of this issue. Let people make their own decisions and then respect those decisions. All this division and fighting is only good for our enemies.

Yeah, a complete overreaction, to be sure.

That being said, if you're so freaked-out by covid and have a newborn son with these issues, why even go out?
The parents probably aren't a risk to their son as much as the restaurant's surroundings.

For real, they are going to take the mask off to eat. What's the point?
When we went to Pigeon Forge last year, they were in full COVID protocol and we had to wear mass into restaurants, but could take them off once we got to the table. Maybe it helped, but seems kinda pointless to me.

We have had people who travel who are so afraid of covid, you wonder why they even took the initiative to leave their home.

It has become an irrational fear for many, and I fault the 24 hour news cycle.

They often spend their whole trip complaining about how things did not seen covid safe where they went (SeaWorld, restaurants, etc) then complain the service was slow because there were not enough staff.

It's exhausting.

Yep. I know people who have not left their home in over a year because of COVID. They work from home, have groceries delivered, buy online.

I of all people respect the virus, but I'm not going to live in fear.

Ha. Yeah... the routine here was:

wear a mask as you enter the restaurant.

take it off as one is in the act of first sitting down at the table

mask remains off throughout the meal

after the meal, leave the mask off and walk through the restaurant when leaving.

I've enjoyed a meal, I've paid and I'm leaving

what are they going to do? throw me out of the restaurant ? I'm already leaving.

Hmm.. if you go up front before paying will they throw you out? Might get some some free meals...

But it's nice to know that "it can be done" if so desired. There are options.
