Can we finally...

...start the serious conversation about how the country was played by media and the "powers that be" regarding Rona? Or do we wait another 14 days and see if another 100k die from it spreading during the rioting? I'm disgusted beyond measure at what has transpired in our country during the last 90 days, and the sad thing about it is I think the worst is still yet to come.

I hope I'm wrong.

Good article, and I think most of us here have had similar suspicions all along.

Even regarding the George Floyd case...while I think most of us will agree that there was excessive force used, was it racially motivated? Other than mr. Floyd being black, is there any evidence that they treated him this was because he was a black man? I haven't seen any.

I got into it with some young liberals on Facebook over this, and they all thought I was crazy to even question that. I asked them how they knew race was a factor, and of the couple who bothered to answer me, their responses were "it just was" and "well, you know it was". In other words, they can't provide any evidence of it being racially motivated. Of course, that didn't keep the media from jumping all over this as a racial issue, and it didn't keep the looters and rioters from doing millions in damage and taking innocent people's lives.

To be clear, I'm not saying the use of excessive force on George Floyd wasn't racially motivated, I'm just saying I haven't seen any evidence that it definitely was. I honestly don't think we know one way or the other. But it seems that doesn't matter at this point.

I stopped trying to rationalize with anyone on the left a long time ago, I just smile and nod my head in agreement just to avoid a senseless debate. I don't "unfriend" or avoid those on the left and I'm open to all views even though I may not agree. I try not to force my views on others and certainly don't expect others to agree with them. I'm beyond disgusted with what I see happening in our country but I recognize my limitation on influencing or changing anything so my motto is let it burn. Eventually law and order will be regained and we'll rebuild, it's nothing we haven't already faced. At one point the moderate / conservative American will have enough and will then themselves start to rebel.

I saw a news report where Floyd and the officer had worked together at one time as security officers at a night club. I wonder if there was bad blood between the two of them and that was the reason the officer treated him the way he did. The other three officers disgust me, as not one of them made any attempt to stop the other.
