Californians could see up to $128 fixed charge added to their monthly electric bill

Wow. Read that article, then some of the referenced articles about MEM 3.0 and other Rules the CUPC is trying to implement. Complete and total BS. I knew the state was screwed up, but this is incredible.

NEM 3.0 reduced the amount that utilities had to pay homeowners for power by 80%, making the panels uneconomical unless they use all the power themselves.

Now they want to make it illegal for renters/condo owners to use the power off panels bought by the association. They can't even store it and use it themselves. Then figure they will go back and try to do the same to single family homeowners.

Just shows that Newsome and companies announcements are alternate energy targets are all political BS. There is no way they are going to make it.

On this march toward 100% carbon-free power, California shot itself in the foot, passing Net Energy Metering (NEM) 3.0, a policy that cut customer compensation for exporting power to the grid. Combined with a high interest rate environment, project economics for rooftop solar in California have eroded, and demand has imploded.

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) is soon to vote on a proposed decision that is expected to be harmful to the value of rooftop solar for renters in multifamily housing, farms, and schools.

The decision would disallow residents of multi-meter properties to consume their own rooftop solar production, even if they own the solar array. The policy forces customers to first sell their solar production to the utility, and then buy it back at higher rates.

“The CPUC is proposing a blatant seizure of property,” said the Solar Rights Alliance.

California’s existing Virtual Net Metering and Net Energy Metering Aggregation programs allow properties with multiple meters to install a single solar array for the entire property, sharing one system’s electricity and associated net metering credits with all customers and meters on the property. The proposed decision states that these customers should be limited in how much of their own solar production they can use, even if it is stored in their own battery.

The corruption and evil of Newsom is immense. I truly fear he will end up replacing Biden.

They do everything behind closed doors, and the people just roll over and believe what they are told. The people believe that they must protect the environment by using no water, no gas, electric or any other form of energy. Eat no meat, ride a bike, have no kids, ban all guns... it is a mess.

The more they conserve, the more the government punishes them with higher payments.

It is a beautiful state, run by monsters.
