Braves 2025

The Braves ended 2024 with several injuries and got beat in the playoffs. I'm just glad they made it to the playoffs in the 1st place.

Anyways, the 2025 Braves will be here before you know it and I'm irked the games will be broadcast on an upper tier package with Comcast and not be free on basic cable.

Say goodbye to Travis d'Arnaud though. He signed with the Los Angeles Angels.

Max Fried to the Yankees.

Yankees land Fried on $218 million contract

BREAKING: Left-hander Max Fried and the New York Yankees are in agreement on a eight-year, $218 million contract, pending physical, sources tell ESPN. It is the largest guarantee in baseball history for a left-handed pitcher. -- Jeff Passan

I hate to see him go but I'm glad he's going to the AL. Some of these contracts are just mind boggling.

He is veteran player (meaning older) and had a good season last year. I hope he is not a Soler who started gang busters then fizzled out. They could use help in the outfield with the injury prone Acuna, streaky Harris and Kelenic I suppose in left. Acuna and Harris are excellent in the field when healthy. They lost starting/ bullpen pitchers and a very good back up catcher. Hopefully the infield is healthy. They are solid when healthy. Surprisingly pitching was pretty solid last year it was their bats that hurt them in the long run.

Sigh. MLB will be going away soon if they keep up this money grab. How are they going to get new fans if the only way to see the games is to purchase a special streaming package or deluxe cable package? Only someone who is already a fan would do that.

They seem to be shooting themselves in the foot to get extra dollars now.

Just another reason for them to focus on expanding to international markets. No thanks, I'll check the score on a free app. The Braves are probably doing to lose anyway.

I really enjoy all the excitement surrounding the season opener and always wonder how long before it begins fading away into reality of another average season. Either way, it's still better than when there's no baseball.
