Boy Scout Fundraiser-Pine Straw

Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop 301 will be doing pine straw this year!! Yay!! Pine Straw is $4.00 per bale if you want to pre-order. The trailer with the pine straw will be located in the Union area (still trying to get a good spot). We're using the same source most other scout units use. I'll deliver it to you if you want some. The pine straw will be here on March 17, just in time for spring landscaping.

We use about 50-60 bales a year, it's all we use on the garden. It shades the roots from Georgia's hot weather in July/August, It breaks down quickly and we till in back in each spring.

Has anyone checked with Mr. Swafford to see if it could be set up beside his store? He is fairly particular about that sort of thing but it's a very busy intersection so it would be worth asking.

That's exactly where we're tying to get it put. Mr. Brooks is working on it. Hope he let's us do it.

The other possibility which is nicely set up for the drive-thru business ... the empty lot with the U-shaped drive where the big propane tank used to be. County records (or even Mr. Swafford, maybe) would be able to help you track down the property owner(s).
