No longer can you be decent moral human being, and a constitutionalists and not be shredded for every small quirk or mannerism you have. The progressive push/SJW/Saul Alinsky Model to transform America is to win at all costs.
The type of person who can win is one like Trump who will fight back...and once the 0bama /Clinton pupitiers saw that Trump had a message that resonated with those overlooked for over a decade, they went all Steel dossier to make sure he would not be in office... and they are still working on it.

The next battle... is gonna be for freedom of speech on the internet...
There are those that would censor the internet...
And there are those that advertise on specific sites on the internet... which demand PC or they will pull their adds.
We really need the FEDS to make the internet a utility... so NOBODY can claim private ownership of some site... and censor free speech!
Note: This is not associated with an issue on another forum...
Rather a statement for this forum!

Whatever it takes to totally STOP any and all censorship on the internet...
THAT is what free speech is... the opposite or censorship!
Having said that...
If we get off into a discussion about censorship... sooner or later...
We are gonna have to address the way the MSM ignores one side and promotes the agenda of the other side...
And that is probably gonna raise tensions on the forum... like it did on another forum I am on...
IMO suffice it to say:
We all know there is censorship going on, on the internet...
And if we are gonna truly have the first amendment functioning as it was intended by the founders...
That censorship has to be stopped.
Sure... it is gonna allow folks who want to have a soapbox and talk about stuff I do not agree with... the right to do so...
However that is what freedom of speech is: everyone gets to have their soapbox!

IMO, making the 'internet' (I put internet in quotes because it's not just one thing...it is a huge collection of websites and services owned by many different entities) into a utility is not a good idea. In fact, it's a horrible idea (again, IMO).
One of the great things about the internet is the freedom it provides. Don't like Twitter or Facebook due to their left-wing bias...fine...anyone can start their own website sharing their own opinions.
The first amendment is written as follows:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech. Congress....not individual companies. What about TV stations? Should they all become public utilities too? What about radio stations?

The internet is not the only way to disseminate news. TV and radio isn't going away any time soon. Facebook, Twitter, and Google are not news organizations....they are social media (Facebook, Twitter) and search, etc. (Google) companies.
People relying on social media for news is a problem for those people, not a problem for the government to 'solve' by taking over those companies.

The only internet censorship that bothers me is from the government.
Privately owned sites will always have control over their content, as they should.
Just like here on Dallas Hwy...we don't allow nudity and we have a few words in robocensor. Other than that, we allow most anything. Even cat videos.

It should he obvious that people don't lose their rights when they join together in groups and a corporation is a group of people. If it isn't obvious, then the Supreme Court clarified that in Citizens United v FEC and Burwell v Hobby Lobby. Facebook and Twitter have the right to express whatever opinion they please and can do that by whatever means, including filtering the comments they publish.
If you insist that the government make them publish what you think is "fair and balanced", then it's your and the government's speech, not Facebook's. This is precisely why we must protect ALL speech. To do otherwise puts the government in charge of what is "appropriate".
The "internet" needs to be completely unregulated, that's why I am against the so called "net neutrality". It puts the government squarely between content and users. It will no more be used for "neutrality" than gun laws will be used to stop mass shootings.

Yea, but I can vote with my feet and cancel my facebook account. I hate it, because I can keep track of a lot of old friends there, but some of the items that friends have posted that facebook blocked as "hate speech" were more like "not what facebook likes" speech. Since the advertising posts come up no matter what I do, I guess I'll have to kill the account to show my feelings.

One party more or less follows what the founders of the country wanted (lately less than more)...
The other party is determined to destroy the country in the name of fairness and freebees.
And the large majority of media and internet outlets are decidedly screaming the message of the latter from the mountain-tops, while openly censoring the former...
And the govt should not do anything about that...
