Coincidentally I literally just received a notification on my laptop reminding me that tomorrow is the first day of "National Hispanic Heritage Month." I may be behind times but I honestly have never heard of such a thing. I'm fine with it but now I wonder who will get the other 10 remaining months. How about "National Taxpayer Heritage Month" or "White Redneck Heritage Month?" Space is getting limited.

Update: Apparently I am behind times and I learned something new today - National Hispanic Heritage Month was first proclaimed by President George H. W. Bush[8] on September 14, 1989, in Presidential Proclamation 6021.[7] Since 1989, all Presidents have given a Presidential Proclamation to mark Hispanic Heritage Month.[9]
