Atlanta Council changes directions to fund police more next year despite activists demands

Kind of what I thought would happen, after a brief period they would slowly and quietly refund the police when the tax payers began raising cane about the crime rate.

I don't think it was just the silent majority voicing their opposition in support of the PD. Look at some of the violent crimes that have occurred over the last year in Buckhead. If people in Buckhead to include liberals don't feel safe; they'll demand to be heard. Then you have to look at all those people in the high crime areas that have experienced increases in crime since this whole George Floyd thing has occurred. People in those area who do vote, usually vote Democrat; but I bet they were voicing their support for the PD as well.

Buckhead is in the process of separating themselves from the City of Atlanta. They have sent word to the Atlanta Police to come work for them and they will be treated with respect.

I still consider it part of Atlanta and have it on my "avoid" list.

Pandering to a different constituency. All these council members are Democrats and are masters of pandering to the squeaky wheel. Where have they been over the past year while crime has ran rampant with a no show anti LEO mayor? Rome is burning while these idiots play the fiddle.
