Paulding County Public Defender’s Office
This position is responsible for providing legal services to indigent clients.
Primary duties include representing indigent clients with criminal cases in Superior Court and Juvenile Court of Paulding County.
Note: This is a Non-Civil Service county position.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited school of law.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
- Current membership in the State Bar of Georgia.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Appellate and brief writing a plus.
- One to two years of criminal trial experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of conducting legal research including researching precedents in cases, preparation and dissemination of complex documents, pleading compilation, orders, etc...
- Knowledge of Juvenile cases.
- Bilingual a plus but not required.
