Assistant Public Defender (Grade 21/ $53,372.80 annual):



This position is responsible for providing legal services to indigent clients.


Note: This is a Non-Civil Service county position.


Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited school of law.

• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.

• Current membership in the State Bar of Georgia.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Appellate and brief writing a plus.
• One to two years of criminal trial experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of computer and communication skills.
