And you can screw yourself too

My wife's side of the family has had family thanksgiving and Christmas parties every year since we've been married. 20-50 people at the events.

This year, both have been cancelled. We will get together with my Dad and Mom since it's likely his last holidays with us unless some miracle occurs.
Same with my wife's parents, we're going to try to keep it small, but we are doing something with them.

Yeah we only had one large Christmas gathering every year and I barely went to that anyway. The biggest Christmas gathering we have is maybe 10-12 of us at the in-laws house on Christmas morning.

We will have 9 minimum and up to 20 for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Those who have concerns will not attend and that's perfectly understandable. We will see them as soon as possible.

Your guests should probably wear masks.

Not because of COVID, because of your farts.

It's a family tradition.

We used to enjoy several competitive games at family events: tobacco spitting, distance and timed peeing, and passing gas. I stopped chewing tobacco a few years back so had to scratch that one, I'm over 55 now so the prostate took me out of the peeing games, but man I'm the reigning 5-time "South Georgia" champion in the gas game.

We honestly haven't decided what to do. We have two very elderly and fragile Aunt's who come every year. On one hand it might be the last time we see them, and on the other we might kill them. The Mrs. and I are very careful because of our own conditions, but some of her cousins, not so much. They have busy lives and travel a lot.

We were thinking maybe leave it to the last minute, and if the weather is so that we can spend a lot of time outside, we might do it. Otherwise it will be just us and a 14 lb. turkey that we already bought.

Sounds like a sensible plan.

I'm sure we won't do extended family because some of them are terrified about the Wuhan. But we'll get together with our younguns and celebrate.

The lockdowns are coming quick. California is doing it, just read that Philadelphia is implementing a near total lockdown.

Not sure what Kemp will do. Georgia is up, like every state except one, but in better shape than 80% of the country at 1.05 (today's figure). On a good note, it appears that several state's spread numbers are coming back down.

Interesting case map today for GA. Those two or three counties are really bad, but look how the ATL area has recovered from last spring.

This weekend was just about the end of the Atlanta takeover in Ellijay. Folks up there are scared that by Thanksgiving the will have brought us their disease. It's a tough choice for a small county that relies on tourists and vacation homes for income. Folks are genuinely worried.
