American Music suffers another loss

aka "The Jackal"
Right on the heels of the loss of Levon Helm, the Americana music industry has lost another pioneer. Chris Ethridge, late of the Flying Burrito Brothers, has passed away.

Chris was an Americana pioneer, and played bass with Willie Nelson and Byron Berline as well as Gram Parsons. he was a gifted songwriter. He was also an in demand studio musician all his life playing with some of the greats like Judy Collins, Johnny Winter, Leon Russell, Linda Rhonstadt, and Randy Newman, to name a few. He is another of the unsung heroes of American music whose loss will leave a hole even if his name is not well known. My thoughts are with his family and his legion of friends, including my friend Byron Berline. Fly on Chris.
