Look for a battle for more Charter Schools in Georgia. The parents and in some cases the grandparents of these children will fight for the freedom to use their portion of tax payer money to educate their children in the manner they feel best serves their children.

Nine of the schools will receive state and federal funding for students, but no local funding. As state special charter schools, they will get $2,700 to $4,400 per student.

Wouldn't be appropriate if these schools do a better job with half the taxpayer money than their more governed brethren? This is a good time to PROVE that throwing money at the education problem is not the answer.

It amazes me that there is not more interest in this issue. You would think that folks would care about the finances of Charter Schools and how it affects public school funds or about the issue of school choice. :rant

That's the problem with our government; it always thinks the solutions to problems like education is to throw more money at it. It couldn't possibly be the curriculum, lack of discipline, etc could it?
