I paid back what it cost to educate me in public schools a long time ago then.I have never had a student in Paulding County Schools but I pay out the wazoo for schools. There is nothing fair about it and the rate is way too high as it is. Let the damn robber baron good ole boys pay the increas
Bend over. I am zoned A1 and pay out the wazoo on the raw land I own. I pay even more on the house and property it is deeded on.We will see our first Paulding county tax bill this year. I've heard that the 10-year land covenant agreement we signed is suppose to help dramatically but I'm still nervous about how much the first bill will be. I was surprised to know we paid less here in West Cobb than our oldest daughter and her family paid in Paulding last year.
I mean...couldn't have been that much in 40s dollars.I paid back what it cost to educate me in public schools a long time ago then.
I was told when I moved to Paulding that Cobb had lower school tax and ad-valorem because Cobb made more off of Cumberland Mall than Paulding got in total. Granted that was in 1987, but the principal is still the same, look at Hwy-41 from the Chattahoochee to Hwy-92,,, solid commercial. We will see our first Paulding county tax bill this year. Our desks in elementary school still had the Ink Well hole, be we all had ball points by then. In the sixth grade we all had to get a fountain pen and learn how to use it, which is when we found out what the Ink Well hole was for. Ah, the good old days!I mean...couldn't have been that much in 40s dollars.
I remember when I started the third grade we had those holes. This was my first time attending this small-town school. I asked what the hole was for and all the kids laughed. I guess they thought I was stupid. I had come from a school in Fayetteville, NC that had a more modern desk. And people think things are backward in the south. Our desks in elementary school still had the Ink Well hole, be we all had ball points by then. Yeah, the early grades had the wooden box desks that were shorter, but the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th had the metal tubbed desks that were longer and very tinny, had drain holes in the bottom and a swiveling seat.I remember when I started the third grade we had those holes.
