Black Lives Matter leader states if US 'doesn't give us what we want, then we will burn down this system'

I've had my carry permit for a while, (got it so I could take a pistol into the woods during muzzle loader season) but never felt the need to actually do it around town. I'm reconsidering that policy now.

We're an open carry state.

On Saturday, our son is leaving the house for a trip to Chik-Fil-A & he has a revolver strapped to his belt.

I reckon I won't be getting between him and an order of waffle fries anytime soon.

As far as getting it for use in the woods, its' a quirk in the law, but centerfire ammo is NOT allowed in the woods during muzzy season unless you have a carry permit. If you do, even a 44 mag is fine. (as long as you don't shoot deer with it) I considered just getting a black powder revolver as they look like they would be fun, but haven't done it.

Agreed on the open carry, but if I carry, I prefer concealed for it to be a complete surprise to whoever caused enough fear of my life to pull.

Carrying your pistol out in the open in public places only draws attention to yourself, not necessarily in a good way. It also makes you a target. When I carry, I always do so with my pistol concealed.

I understand and agree with this.

Thankfully, he just went to the drive-thru and wasn't walking around with it.

One of his friends likes to go to this local hippie-dippy coffee shop with a sidearm.... like you said, just for the attention.

They're 22 and 23 year olds & still learning the ropes of life.

I also agree that open carry is generally not a good idea. It's just advertising for trouble, IMO.

Plus, if a bad scene erupts, you won't have the element of surprise. You'd be the first targeted.

On the other hand,,, Bad guy bops into a liquor store to rob it and sees 25 people all with open weapons on their belt,,, he might just turn around and leave. Ah for the days of the old west when nearly everyone carried a sidearm to shoot snakes,,, or bad guys!

Back when I worked on Memorial Drive near Cabbagetown, we used to open carry into the package store there. Every time at least two young guys would leave the parking lot.

This poor man was robbed so much that cops would hide in the cooler. We would wave at them as we grabbed the six-pack. Back in the 70's that part of town pretty much was the wild west.
