High School Football Scores

Yep. Thanks Pax, had kids at north and paulding so it’s always interesting!
My kids went to East and I got interested in the high schools, and since I was looking up the scores anyway, I thought I'd post them.
Next week is the last week of the regular season, then I'll have to scramble for the playoff schedule.
I'm glad there are others interested in the high schools here.

It appears Carrolton and McEachern are power houses again. We played McEachern on our regular schedule back in the stone ages. This was just prior to the Jim Dorsey power reign of the mid-eighties and nineties. Coach Dorsey was my O-Line coach in 78-79 before he went to Paulding then McEachern. He was a very good coach and one of my favorites. He also taught PE and Biology back in the day. Congrats South Paulding on making the playoffs and the tight win last night.

Congrats to Marietta and Allatoona. Your reward is Lowndes Co. and Harrison. Lowndes is a perennial powerhouse in the state full of Division 1 candidates. The program draws from a large area in rural south Georgia with no shortage of good athletes. We played Marietta every year back in the day. The first year I played varsity the Blue Devil's had a kicker who could hit from anywhere on the field. We were warming up pre-game at the end of the field that had the big rock wall behind the goal post at the old school. All of a sudden a ball slammed the wall and came back on to the field. Their kicker had hit from about the 50 hard enough to hit the wall and bounce back onto the field. The kicker's name was Kevin Butler as I recall. Thanks for the update.

My freshman year, we won the first three football games of the season, and then went and lost the next 37 games in a row. Yes, I went to Wills High School in Smyrna. Even Osborne whooped up on us. But to this day, I still enjoy high school football more than watching the Falcons.

Congrats to Marietta and Allatoona. I'll be watching.

I'm wondering if we even will have a 2020 HS Football season.

Our last quarterback at our kids' HS is now at Ohio State. (Go Bucks)

anyway..... how will college programs recruit if kids aren't playing ???

on a side note:

At the ripe old age of 22, our son is a HS English teacher.
At his high school, the last several quarterbacks have gone to: Oklahoma, Michigan State..... and unfortunately one kid make the horrific mistake of accepting an offer from TSUN ( that school up north ).

Woody Hayes even came to terms and quit calling Michigan "that school up north" and instead call it Michigan.
