The Queen and I went to Folks restaurant for the first time ever. I've heard about it for years but we've just never gone, until tonight. Had the catfish filets with squash casserole and spinach with blackberry cobbler and vanilla ice cream for dessert. Granny slapping good.

(I'll be going back for their gizzards soon)

Good heavens. If my mother ever cooked for you people, you would expire from pure delight right on the spot.

Since it was our first visit the waitress brought us fried green tomatoes and said it was her treat. That was very nice of her since we didn't ask for them (and they were good). I tipped her well.

And just where is my invitation? :tapfoot2

Many years ago, I worked on the maintenance department for Atlanta Area Po Folks franchise. Those stores were some kind of nasty back then. Po Folks corporate went bankrupt, and the local franchise (Folks Inc) had to change, now they are just Folks. They seem to be doing OK now. And the stores seem to be much cleaner. We eat there now and then. The food is always good.
