Just a little history to the reasons behind the protestant reformation. How do you feel about selling forgiveness so you could raise money to build a chapel? Does this go on today in some churches?

Yes

Guess that finally explains income inequality today. Some people have to pay more for their crimes or sins while others can save some of the their money by living a "good" life.

BTW, my yes was for all religions.
I don't think it works for the big guy/gal upstairs, but there are people that "pay" for their sins and a lot of people that will accept payment.

I have been authorized to accept credit cards and paypal in case you need to pay some off.

It likely goes on in most churches today, regardless of denomination.
I don't think most churches are in the business of selling repentance but I do think it still goes on.

Agreed.

I didn't finish the reading the entire link, but my church experience has clearly shown that the largest donors in the church generally fill a lot of the key leadership positions for members.
