Did a heating and AC change Friday...
Customer was kinda an eccentric dude... lives alone and heated with wood for years. Had 2x window shakers in the kitchen/den and bedroom.
Removed gas furnace/Air (not working for years)... replaced with HP/AH... He requested I set up the controls so the HP would lock out (strips only) below a specific outdoor temp... that would be adjustable. Thought about that... decided to use a DF (dual fuel) kit on the yellow wire to the HP, along with a conventional HP thermostat. Tested it, worked fine.
Entire job, including:
*Removing/replacing equipment...
*Running new lineset...
*Running new t-stat wires (including to new outdoor unit)...
*Running elec wire for AH strips...
*And the usual duct mods to fit things together...
Took about 9 hours... had a well skilled helper!
Customer is happy.
Oh... customer is the Deacon in charge of the building at a moderately sized denominational church in Dunwoody... said he would refer me to his friends at the church...
So Friday was a good day!!!
Saturday... A customer with a liqueur store has a cooler that has some ice on the evap head... need to defrost it, clean the drain, reset the defrost cycles and temp so it will not ice up again... not sure who installed this system, looks like a mis-match of used stuff from a restaurant supply junkyard. Imagine attempting to melt a chunk of ice about 1-2" thick, 3-4" wide, and a couple feet long... with a hair dryer...
Well... use a heat gun from Horrible-Freight.
I suspect the drain is clogged... which allowed the ice to start forming in the condensate pan... just the hard way to get to it to clean it... grin!
Sunday: Church and CHILL... need some rest... maybe later in the day, my desk seems to have grown paper again... derned paper growing rabbits...
Ya'll have a nice weekend!
