:)) What does the app button say when you press it to use it? I have an HTC also. It does not have Facetime. I found Tango (it was easier than skype) to use it with my son.

So does this tablet we're wanting have facebook? How bout internet in general?
 
As long as u have WiFi u can get on the Internet. There are Facetime alternates but the other user has to have it too. If all your child's friends use Facetime only then it would do no good. Skype and Oovoo are good alternatives as long as his friends install it too.
