The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday declined to block a Republican-backed Texas law allowing state law enforcement authorities to arrest people suspected of crossing the U.S.-Mexico border illegally, rejecting a request by President Joe Biden's administration.

The administration had asked the justices to freeze a judicial order allowing the Texas law to take effect while the U.S. government's challenge to the statute proceeds in the lower courts. The administration has argued that the law violates the U.S. Constitution and federal law by interfering with the U.S. government's power to regulate immigration.

Some of you may remember when all the "boat people" from Cuba started arriving on the shores of Florida back in 1980. They were taken to internment facilities at Ft. McCoy, WI; Ft. Indiantown Gap, PA; and Ft. Chaffee, AR. There were 125,000 of them. My MP company was sent to Chaffee. When they rioted, we would set our wedge riot formation, and the point man was a fireman with a two-and-a-half-inch fire hose. The water coming out of that thing would send a person flying backward about ten yards. We didn't even have to advance as the riot was over in just a few minutes - all because of that firehose.

Naturally, the liberals would be up in arms calling the use of a firehose inhumane. They call the use of teargas inhumane as well. The Army has developed a heat ray for the purpose of stopping riots. I'd like to see it at work.
