I agree Sanders' line of questioning was out of line and had nothing to do with the responsibilities of the position. I would have handled it differently than Vought did as Sanders made the comment Christianity wasn't what the country was about. I would have reminded him the Constitution guarantees people religious freedom and what Sanders was saying to the effect that there should be no religion in the country. I would also remind him that the Jewish faith believes those who do not believe in God are condemned to hell and the Muslim's Quaran also states those who do not believe in Allah are condemned to hell. I would ask him if he would take this same course of questioning with Jews and Muslims as well as make the statement their beliefs are not what this country is about and because they believe strongly in their faith are not fit to be appointed to a government position.
