He has a choice, go along with the rules or not play.
He chose to not play.
Good for him if those are his beliefs.

The people have a choice, they can change the people on the board, if that is their choice.

Odd that you didn't mention the kids, only him and those who make the rules.

That's where the issue is, them that makes the rules and them that follows, or don't follow, the rules.

Here's a question for ya, would you be ok with a preacher that preaches to the kids that being homosexual is not a sin?

My point of the thread is that we're seeing just the beginning of what's to come.

:dunno The kids did not make the rules. The state made the rules for the volunteers so why would StRadial mention the kids? (Not that he does not think the should have availability to preachers, but that was not what was presented.)

I agree with StRadial that they need to follow the rules given to them or not go. I would have thought that as someone that is a teacher of something they could have still come, preached the word, and figured out a way to still minister. Teachers in schools have many things they must avoid saying or implying daily within their lessons. If they want to minister to the kids enough they will find a way to do so until it winds up in court for them to decide if it is legal or not.

I understand.
But you have to make those who make the rules accountable.
If the community thinks it is a bad rule, I hope they will change it.

Seems to me, you get a regular, standard, "off the rack" preacher and you are going to get the homosexuality is a sin.
Seems like you are really narrowing down your options of preachers with this new rule.

I have to wonder, how often does this topic even come up with those kids?

The state will back down after the lawsuit. They don't have legal backing for the decision.

They wouldn't bend, they wouldn't bow and they wouldn't burn.

I fear those who made those rules may not fair as well.

This is only a beginning. When municipalities and states write that type of language into law as "hate speech", they will tell pastors everywhere to either stop calling it a sin or they will not be permitted to preach in their jurisdiction. The only good part of that is the spies they send in might accidentally find Jesus.

I suppose it makes them feel better but the fact of the matter is; just because you don't say the baby is ugly doesn't make it beautiful.
