Thank you so much for the knitting book... I love it. :love :love :love

I plan to start learning after the holidays when the weather turns cold. I will bestow upon
you a nice pair of potholders or maybe some slipper socks in appreciation for the nice gift.

Yay! I'm glad you got it. Sorry I kept forgetting to send it right away. It's a pretty good book. I learned to knit using it, but had a hard time because my brain kept trying to revert back to crochet...lol. Anyhow, enjoy it and can't wait to see some of your projects! :love

Those are cute! I don't remember why I wanted to learn to knit, other than a book I was reading where the main character kept mentioning the comforting sound of hearing her grandmother knitting next to the fireplace. It just sounded like something I wanted to do. Believe me, when I kept getting turned around in my mind and wanting to crochet, the words out of my mouth were not comforting. LOL

LOL! Sounds like me the other day when trying to sew a baby blanket for the first
Time in 6 months.

Knitting is fun but it takes a long time. Crocheting goes much faster, like deewee I learned to crochet first so knitting just didn't get it for me. It takes forever!! :soashamed

Can't wait to see your projects MrsH!!

That was part of my frustration too. But I've seen knitters who could really whip it out quick. It's fascinating to watch.

I didn't know you were a quilter!!! I haven't quilted in YEARS! I would LOVE to create something for the kids. I have saved a lot of their tshirts to make into a quilt some day.

I tried knitting many years ago. I don't recall it going so well. :)) I can crochet, but I am S L O W!!

I made a few of those fleece blankets where I tied the fringe to hold it together. Does that count? 'Cause that's about all I've got! :taunt

I've never made one of those, but I've wanted to. The boys have them for a blanket on their beds and love theirs. It counts!

I always try to buy things for the boys that they ask for for Christmas. A couple of years ago, I wanted them to have something homemade - that they can always remember that I made for them. So, I did! I was having trouble sleeping at the time, and I would wake up at 2 or 3am, sit in the dark living room, watch TV and work on their blankets. (And they kept my lap warm while I did!)

It was cool. They both still love their blankets, and it was a surprise for Christmas morning!

(I've since made myself one for all our cold baseball nights!)

That's sweet! :love

The highlighted is the reason why I only crochet blankets in the winter. I'm always wanting something over my legs warm while I watch TV. I get to "test drive" the afghan before I give it away. :laugh
