I am so sick and tired of hearing the left saying the government should forgive student loan debt. It's nothing more than an attempt to buy votes for their party. These kids are told all through school they need to go to college to get a good paying job. That's really true unless the student majors in a STEM area. I know quite a few social workers with a Master's Degree who are making less than $45K a year. If a student makes the decision to take out student loans to pay for a college education, then they are making an investment for their future. Remember, not all investments are wise ones. It's not wise to take out student loans to be a social worker with a Master's Degree when all your going to get is a $45K a year job having student loan debt of $50K.

Bernie Sanders says we are punishing these young people because they chose to get a college education if we make them pay back their student debt. No, we are holding the responsible to a contract they signed each time they signed a contract for those loans. The obligation is no different than paying off the loan for the car they buy, the credit cards they use, or the mortgage they take out in the future to buy a house.

I stand by what I said; the left is using student loan forgiveness to buy votes.
 
Y'all already know my feeling on this. I worked nights and weekends in my 50s to put my kid through college without incurring any debt. I spent entire days in hot attics wondering if I was gonna die from heat stroke.

If the government forgives all these loans, I want my money back for working like a dog!
 
I know a couple who could pay off the student loan because, as a dentists, the income earned and the frugal way they live, they have the ability to do it.

With the liberal progressives yelling about loan forgiveness, instead the past two years they are paying the minimum due on the loan. They have the money saved if the government does not, in the end, wipe out student loan debt. They said why should we pay if everyone else who did not even get a degree where they have skills for a job get a free education, and we were stupid enough to pay our loan?

Sorry Guard Dad that you are not still "paying," so that you could just wait for ol' Joe and the Ho to pay off that education your daughter received (that has given her gainful employment.) It is quite insulting that the government would even think of wasting our tax money on other's poor choice of college degree, ie poor investment, but that is what marxism is.
