If you go back and look at the history of tax increases and decreases; you see the same things happen. Each time taxes increased, the middle-class suffered layoffs, the nation saw higher unemployment rates, and investments slowed. Each time taxes were decreased, we experienced the opposite. The Dems know this to be true.
It's the same with minimum wage. The Dems claimed each time they proposed a minimum wage increase in this country; it would result in reducing poverty and increase the middle-class. Those results never happened. Minimum wage increases resulted in layoffs, more people going from being full-time employees to part-time, and those who were in poverty remained in poverty as the financial bar to be in the middle-class raised with the cost increases.
The Dems also know this to be true.
So why do they still spout increasing taxes on the rich and corporations will grow the economy and increasing minimum wage will reduce poverty? Because they don't want a middle-class America. They want just two classes of people; the political class (them) and the poor (us).
