Scheduling with women ... ~sigh~

MacDaddy

Training wheel examiner
Trying to put together a small lunch with my extended family. Mrs. Mac, one of my sisters and I are putting it together.

Step 1 - I volunteer to send out an email to all family members asking who will attend
Mrs. Mac suggested I leave off the venue
Sister replies to everyone with the venue

Step 2 - I've gotten responses from everyone that I've figured will respond

Step 3 - we decide to chat about which venue
Mrs. Mac likes places downtown - I mention that they may not be the best choice, based on everyone's location, and traffic (weekend before Christmas).
Sister also likes places downtown, and near Perimeter Mall (note my comment to Mrs. Mac about being near a mall)

Step 4 - we are still discussing the venue
I volunteer to research J Christopher, and Landmark Diner - both of which they suggested and like
Landmark is next to Phipps, J Christopher has a couple of places that are a bit off the beaten path, and not next to a mall

Step 5 - I suggest J Christopher near Brookhaven
Sister notes that it is way out of the way
Sister suggests Eclipse de Luna. We all like Eclipse de Luna, but had originally decided against it (at least that is what I remember) because not everyone likes it. Plus, note again my comment in Step 3 above.
Mrs. Mac sends me a private message, letting me know she knows someone that manages Landmark Diner

Love them both, but I'm about to step out and let them deal with it.

You think that's bad, try working with pretty much all women (30 in office and another 200 volunteers). I'm surprised we ever get anything done.

All places will have traffic the week before Christmas. Mall or no mall, but you could leave early, shop, and then be in the area for lunch if you choose something near the mall. Or just go straight to lunch and then hit up the mall for last minute shopping and you do not feel you just wasted so much time sitting in traffic. (even if it is for a family lunch, wasting time at this point of the season is really not an option for most.)

Thanks, but we will arrive after spending 4+ hours in traffic getting to ATL. Then we need to cut and run after lunch, so we can pick up some stuff in Gwinnett county. Shopping in the area is not on the agenda ... lol

Right now, the Landmark Diner in Buckhead is leading the pack. Not too close to a mall, lot of food choices (we will have a few small kids), and not too hard to get to.

Landmark is about 2 miles to Lenox Mall. :D

LOL .. no shopping! We need to pick up groceries for a big meal the next day. That is about the only shopping we will be doing on Saturday.

{Mac is hopeful}
:spitlaugh:
I am sure Mrs. Mac also knows that it is only 2 miles to Lenox and then just a hop to Phipps. :p:D

Hah @Far West

We decided on LandMark. Have everyone in agreement on the time, well everyone that is coming. Mrs. Mac has a room reserved for us.

Now Mom is saying she won't be able to make it, and can we re-schedule .... ummm, no Mom.

Tell mom, "I'll take you to Cracker Barrel, what day and time works?"

Nothing more special than mom and son time. I would go with my sons to McDonald's to spend time with them...I hate McDonald's.

I hear you. Our schedule is so tight, going to be difficult. We have been trying to figure out a way to include Mom is Christmas with the kids, and grand-daughter, but she is over an hour away (love ATL traffic). Picking her up and taking her back would be a 4+ hour endeavor.

Still trying to figure something out ...

Traffic isn't so bad on Christmas day. We can get from Hiram to Avondale Estates in less than 45 minutes.
