Saganaki, finally

Rolling down the highway
So I couldn't bring myself to spend $16.00 for Greek kassari cheese. Did some research and found Kasarrai cheese was goat cheese. Romano is Italian goat cheese and it's 1/4 the price. I used Romano. It was yummy!!

um... I had kraft sharp shredded cheese today...does that count for anything

Kasseri cheese is sheep's milk with goat's milk mixed in. Romano is made from sheep's and/or goat's milk (it can also be made from cow's milk). It wasn't as good as Kasseri, but it was way less expensive and satisfied my taste for Saganaki. :)

Gotcha. I thought it was sheep's milk, but I did not know they added any goat's. I knew Romano can be made many ways and here I have mostly found the cow milk. I thought it tasted funny the first time I had it until I read the label. :)) Now I really look. I have found locally that Ingles is the best assortment for cheeses, where did you go?

Yep, got it at Ingles. Runs about $7.00 a lb there vs about $16-17 everywhere else. I think I over did it, I'm not used to food that rich anymore and I was up most of the night with a tummy ache. I only ate one small piece. :tapfoot2

:( That stinks when you really want something and then it does not agree with you!
