Rolling down the highway
Wanted to make it today but the roast was still frozen, tomorrow in the crock pot. One of my favorite meals. Yum!!

sounds like an Autumnal recipe. yum! What type of dumplings do you make, roll out or drop?

I'm actually going to try to make some bread dumplings. I have some frozen bread dough that I think will work nicely. Never made them with frozen dough so it will be interesting to see if they turn out.

Hopefully they'll end up looking like this.

Well the dumplings were a bust!! I forgot to take them out of the fridge to rise and I tried to rush them. They were doughy and tough. They are Czechoslovakian in origin, some make them with yeast, some with just baking powder. Here's one recipe, I didn't use this one though. I grew up in a very ethnic rich neighborhood of Italian, Polish and Czechoslovakian, many of my friends moms made these. http://rampouch.com/Knedliky.html

Going back to my regular bisquick dumplings next time. The roast pork and kraut were delicious!!
