Prayer requests

Pursuit Driver
I am suddenly surrounded by LOTS of folks that are very sick and need prayers. I know everyone has someone in their life that needs prayers. So, I thought I'd start this post so everyone could add their personal prayer requests here. I promise to take all of these to church tonight, when I go to choir practice, and they WILL be prayed for. Love to all of you!!!

My requests:
My uncle Mike is in the hospital. They've just brought him out of a medically induced coma and he is breathing on his own now. Only getting oxygen PRN. I don't know yet if his kidneys are functioning, they had quit working a few days ago. I'll know more when daddy and Debbie get up to Maryville. They are on the way now.

A dear friend's daddy has been battling lung cancer for 5 years now. He's being released to hospice today. He'll be receiving that care at home and his daughter will be draining his lungs for him. (She's a nurse) He's had to have them drained twice in the last 3 days. Prayers for comfort and mercy are needed.

A lady I take care of regularly has a mass at the bottom of her brain. She's making an appt with a neurologist. She suffers from MANY diseases and is very sick all the time. I'm praying that whatever this is, will be something treatable with minimal pain/discomfort.

Please post your prayer requests too, folks!

Great idea, deewee.

I would like to lift up Marty from my church, and his family. His mom has been quite sick, but will probably get better. His brother is in very bad shape and it isn't looking good. Both in the hospitals, and different hospitals at that.

Praying for Mike and Marty. Things seem to be getting worse here lately. Bless our troops and the USA!!

We just received word that Marty's brother has zero brain activity. The family has some difficult decisions to make.

I just got home from choir practice, the grocery shopping. We prayed for Marty, his brother, mom and the whole family. We also prayed for Madea, her mom and dad...and their family.

I have great news about my uncle Mike. His kidneys are functioning again and he is MUCH better. His breathing is improving and he has a good prognosis. He should be able to go home in a couple of days.

Thank you SO much! :hug :love

Daddy has improved tremendously! Going to the doctor tomorrow just for a follow up. he's a trooper. He did say tonight he's getting more concerned about Mom. She's pale and "talking out of her head" more. He'll probably spend more time at the dr tomorrow talking about her than him. He'll either schedule her into the doc for an appt. or take her to the hospital.

I'm also happy to hear about your Uncle Mike. I wouldn't have survived the last several days without my dear Uncle and my two aunts!

Deewee that's great news!!

Madea, special prayers for you and your family.

Still praying for all!!

My heart is heavy today. My Mom, because she naps so much during the day, frequently wakes at night and talks to my Dad. Last night Dad told me he woke up because he heard her talking the night before. When he spoke to her she said she was talking to her grandson. When my Dad asked her which one, she said Lane. For those who may not know, Lane is my son that passed away in 1993 at 8 weeks of age.

Please feel free to post your thoughts and comments. I fully aware of potential implications. If she truly were talking with Lane, it warms my soul to know he is close by and if he has been the one chosen to lead her home, I feel blessed. I also know my Mom has had periods of time when she's not completely lucid and it could simply all be in her mind.

Just prior to my grandmother's passing, she said she saw an angel. We had the most wonderful conversation about that angel that I will always treasure.

When my mother in law passed, I had gone in to talk with her and tell her I needed to go home. While my husband and I were with her, she spoke simply "Mom" and she gazed toward the end of her bed. She had not spoke in a few days prior to that and did not speak again. She passed early the next morning.

It's been just over a year since my mom passed. In the last few days before she died, she first began mentioning some relatives that had died in years passed. And then in her last week, she'd lie there and begin to gaze toward the ceiling. She'd get a peaceful smile on her face and she'd mention "that man in the door". Though we didn't want to lose her, we were left with an assurance that she had been freed from the horror of Alzheimer's and was in a place where she was surrounded by indescribable beauty and love.

Madea - If God is about to call your mom home, He is preparing her, removing her fears, letter her know that her loved ones are there ready to welcome her with open arms to the most magnificent of all places.

I found peace in knowing this, perhaps it will help you as well.

I just got an e-mail that after being pronounced brain-dead, Marty's brother has started showing some brain activity. The doctors have no explanation for this.

Still too early to know what the prognosis is, but the family is asking for continued prayers.

God is still in the healing business! Prayer works!!!!

I just ask all to please continue to pray for our grandson and our daughter. I know it will be hard today as she leaves the hospital and is not able to bring the baby home.

Mike should be released from the hospital by Mon or Tues. They are still administering IV antibiotics to clear up the pneumonia. He's continuing to improve. We are thankful!!!

I finally got an appt, for the lady I take care of on Thurs and Fri, to see a neurologist but it's not for 3 weeks. We've also got her an appt with an endocrinologist about her blood sugar. Having a hard time getting it under control. We'll also have to get her to her infectious disease specialist this week to access her port and get her on IV antibiotics at home.

I'm keeping all the prayer requests close to my heart and pray for everyone on this list. Prayer works!!! God does hear us and He is faithful!

Adding these all to my prayer list.

I have a couple to add in return.

My dad has been sick with several different types of cancer. First it was lung cancer and they had to remove most of his lung. Then he had cancer show up in his colon and they removed it. Now he has cancer on his liver. The first spot that showed up on the liver they said they could possibly (95%) chance of getting it with a laser treatment. Well that didn't work becuase they didn't get all of the outside ring of the cancer. He has taken 5 radiation treatments and they are hoping this slows it down. This is a very agressive type cancer and my dad is 75 and refused to take Chemo.

Another is a childhood friend of mine and my family is close to her family as well. Her daughter Mia is 7 yrs old and they found out she has Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). She is now at St. Jude and getting her treatments. She was transported to St. Jude from Shreveport.

Thanks!

They are still seeing brain activity, but last night he was running 103 temps and there was swelling in the brain.
