Pouring & hail!

You never know what you'll get into in those North Georgia/Tennessee mountain roads. That's my old stomping grounds too.

It definitely gets dark up there as well.

We had a short rain this afternoon. Not really enough water to matter, but it cooled things off nicely for the family to sit outside and chew the fat.

Spit a few drops, three times.............it all went around us, again.

Me too. Has not rained at our house all week except for a small shower Monday morning early. I thought we would get it 2 or 3 times today and got nothing.

Your neighbors would appreciate that as well.

And probably the wildlife too.

Naw! No visable neighbors and the groundhogs don't care.

We had a nice short shower, but the lightening was scary. We got to swim for a whole 20 minutes. But we still had a wonderful time with our friends!

I'm gonna spit nails if we just get a light sprinkle once again! :rant

The clouds keep parting around us ... my plants need a drink... but enough to help the soil ... not just enough to make the leaves on the dogwood and squash grow Powdery Mildew! :rant :tapfoot2

So are you spitting nails yet?? That's all we got yesterday, about 20 rain drops - twice!! :rant

Yeah ... you know someone who needs a deck built!!!! :tapfoot2 :tapfoot2 :tapfoot2 I'm gonna need the money to pay my water bill!!!! :laugh

Not one lousy drop...totally dissipated before it got to us. :rant :rant :rant

I WAS glad it did not just spit or sprinkle, and start the Powdery Mildew cycle again...plants are getting better - out growing the leaves that were the worst (that had withered, that I cut off!)

I hand watered plants yesterday... I can't decide if I should just let the Bermuda turn brown...I've been watering once a week which has kept it from turning all brown ... but two days after watering it looks so thirsty with this dry heat.

The garden is growing, but by 2:00 pm many leaves are just droopy... I'm trying to go at least 3 days between watering ... I want the roots deep - but those 103 to 106 days, I hand watered in the evening. I also gave them some Miracle Grow type fertilizer.

Luckily my poor garden has too many tall shade trees that keep it from 100% sun! Part is shaded in the AM, the other part shaded inthe PM. :thumbsup

Durn it! I can't mow my lawn today!! Maybe tomorrow.

I put my eldest son in charge of mowing and edging the front yard. Since he works and goes to school he is not around much... it is his contribution to the running of the house.

He has been THRILLED that he has not had to mow in 2 weeks. The last time he mowed, I just had him mulch since there was not much growth, it was just sort of lumpy. Usually there will be so much growth it needs to be bagged. He was finished in 1/4 of the usual time!

I really need to fertilize, that's the other reason it has grown very little, but we are not getting any rain to water it into the ground! :pray Pray for rain!
