Post Office vent

I mailed a letter Feb 28th, via certified mail, return receipt with tracking number and it still has not been delivered. It's sitting in a warehouse, waiting on a competent government employee to move it along. It seems as if there's a democrat running things and it's one big mess for sure.

Paulding water had a notice a few weeks ago that it was taking up to two weeks for payments to reach them. And they would still charge late fees, even it it was the post office's problem. :cantbelieve:

I had a gas bill payment vanish in Oct last year. Got the delinquency notice and paid the double bill in Nov and wondered what happened. In Jan (nearly 3 months later) received an envelope with what was left of the bill and check postmarked from Philly. The letter with it said the machine ate it. Why it had to go to the dead letter office in Philly to be sent back to me, I have no idea.

Two years ago in Dec, sent by mail the yearly renewal of my sons insurance. In Jan I get a notice that they will cancel it unless I pay. I sent another payment. In Feb I get the cancellation notice, but it says they will restore if I send one quarter payment now. So I do. By registered mail, tracking requested. THAT one makes it and the policy is restored.

Yeah, there is a reason people are paying on line more and more.

everyone knows that the USPS is a compete disaster, everyone.

my take, use it to your advantage....

the phrase "The checks in the mail" has never been more useful.

My vent with the USPS is that our new address where we are moving is not in the USPS system so I cannot setup an address change. Until it is in there, I get to pay for a box at the local UPS store to send my mail to. I do not know yet if this was a goof up by our builder for not getting the address submitted or what, but I know how slow the government is.

This last month both the electric bill and the water bill got lost, and I had to call them. Then the water bill showed up, it was for two week and I don't know why. Last Saturday the electric bill showed up after the due date.
If anyone has a mind to, you can sign up for USPS Informed Delivery which sends you an e-mail each day with what will be delivered that day including USPS packages. It seems that each day they photograph your mail as it is being route sorted. I use it to verify our mail as lost or not yet sorted for delivery, and is very handy to see what is there when you go out of town. It's free,,, can you believe it?

The PO is in the worst shape I have ever seen it. Two weeks ago I was waiting on a package I needed to complete a project. I tracked it and it was schedued to deliver on a Monday. It did not arrive. I checked the tracker and over a seven day period it went from NY to Palmetto to ATL (sat 3 days) to Palmetto to Dallas (sat 2 days) back to Palmetto back to Dallas and arrived seven days late. I was about to reorder and fly it in to meet my deadline when it finally showed up. During this the PO would not allow a search request to be requested until it was 10 days past due so I could not use that route. My SIL works for the PO and she told me the Palmetto sorting facility recently had a "sick out" of union employees and 250 employees called in sick the same day. The PO is in the process of moving all the ATL sorting to the Palmetto facilty and apparently it is a disaster. The new technology is questionable and the staff is incapable of using it. Most of these employees are "Democrats" with no work ethic and zero loyalty to their employer. These last opinions are my SIL's first hand observations not mine.

Yeah I have been using that service for a long time.

The water department has been having all kinds of issues here in Paulding. The bills for Feb were late, then the next ones came early my last 5 bills:

10/9 to 11/03 < Usual read date is on the 3rd, so previous month was a 6 days late.
11/03 to 12/08 < 5 days longer period
12/08 to 01/18 < 10 days longer period
01/18 to 02/12 < 6 days shorter period
02/12 to 03/02 < 10 days shorter period

Have no idea what these people are doing and pretty sure they don't either.
Add to that the Post office issues and its' a mess.

Yeah I saw a picture yesterday somewhere of a huge line of trucks trying to deliver mail to the sorting facility.

This was it: Palmetto

My HOA dues payment is stuck in that sorting facility. Hope it makes it out before the end of the month.
