Some of you might have critters that you're attached to. Wifey and I were just talking about our doggy, she's getting old (around 13) and we realize that she might not have too many years left. She's not just a dog, she's an extremely intelligent and good natured part of our family. Daughter mentioned when she was here at Christmas that she wishes she could clone the pooch and have a carbon-copy puppy when she moves into her house.

So in our discussions, the reality hit us that she'll leave us some day, and there will be a big hole in our hearts when she's gone. We could get another pet, but it's doubtful that she'll be the caliber of dog that this one is....filled with love and almost human at times.

Here's to "Aussie"

Aww, we all love our pets so much. They become such a part of our families it's hard to imagine them not being with us. Enjoy the time you have now, when the other time comes, she knows you will help her through it.

awwww Guard Dad, enjoy every moment you have with that precious baby. She is beautiful!

I speak from experience that no other furry child will replace this one in your heart, you will just make room in your heart for another to love and appreciate all their wonderfulness that makes them unique.

You're right, Sis. I know what you went through not a couple of years ago and we were the same with our two. Almost the same day we lost our second, a lady co-worker asked me to give one of her pups a home because she and her other pup didn't get along.

The Mrs. wasn't sure, but I said what a better way to honor the lose of our little loved ones than to give another dog a home that needed one. Since then we adopted two and both are wonderful. Sure we miss Lacy and Jupiter, but Marty and Bella are happy and make us happy. We dread the day we lose them also, but now we know how to honor their memory.
