This is the kind of BS the Democrats do. The shutdowns kept people from going to their jobs, but they still had jobs to return to once the shutdowns were over. In April 2020, Georgia was the first state to reopen. Other states followed suit in May. The slowest states to reopen were the red states. In fact, many of the red states did not completely open up until after Biden took office.
The majority of the layoffs during the were only temporary. The shutdowns hurt a good percentage of small businesses that closed permanently because of the money lost. It's clear the reduction of unemployment was not considered jobs created by the Democrats during 2020. But they sure claimed those who returned to their jobs after Biden's inauguration were jobs created.

Let's put this in actual numbers of people. In April 2020, 20.5 million were told to stay at home because of the pandemic. In December 2020, 10.7 million were still at home. Using the logic of the Democrats, Trump created 9.7 million jobs. That's more than what Pelosi said Biden created. When Biden took office, not all states were fully open. Most of those were red states.
