Opinion of the Trump's tarriffs

It'll work out in the end although admittedly pain may be felt in certain industries until things settle down.

I wish the press and other politico types would shut up and let the process work.

I feel like we telegraph what we are going to do to negotiate, and that takes away the power in the negotiations.

If other countries know the congress, senate, or constituents are demanding Trump not put tariffs... and he has put them there to use as leverage to say... "Okay, you wanna play fair now?... let's negotiate." I feel like to be patriotic... the whole country should have poker face and shut up.

Instead it is like the media and progressives are standing behind Trump with a mirror showing his poker hand.

Even Harley Davidson needs to shut up. I think they had decided long before they were moving the manufacturing of that one plant... The tariffs presented the company with an easy way to explain the move.

IMO...

The reason the USA is on the short end of trade deals...
May well be some polecats we elected... made deals that favoured them and their buddies... at the expense of the USA as a whole.

Example: When the USA runs trade deficits... we get cheap goods made in countries that have cheap labor... this benefits folks that have lots of $$$ to buy toys...
Yet hurts the working stiffs... which are the backbone of an economy.

IMO the media and the left and the left leaning polecats... are the ones who win with bad trade deals...
Yet us working stiffs are the ones that loose.

FINALLY... us working stiffs decided we had had enough being taken advantage of... and chose to stand up and be heard!

I think the real outcome of this remains to be seen.

Trump is "breaking the rules" somewhat here, but he tends to do a lot of that and so far his gambles have paid off pretty well. I suspect we'll see some pain from this, but hopefully we'll see some improvements as well. We've got to begin shifting some of the jobs back to the United States where possible, and also reign in the trade deficit.

I think the trick is to find a balance between wide open trade and protectionism. I hope Trump knows this.

The balance is gonna be tricky...

As I suspect the political pressure to take special care of special interests... will be stronger as the Trump goes through attempting to fix things.

Lets hope Trump and co can stand firm and do as much as reasonably possible to fix the screw-ups that have happened...
Since the Reagan years.

Happy 4th...

And with that...
Gonna go play!

Catch up this evening.
