Ran across a really good book in the freebie section of Kindle the other day - Mother's Day by Ron Vincent (it's now $2.99). Not an outrageously long book, but just a great story in so many ways. Main plot line - guy who hasn't seen his mother in ten years goes home for Mother's Day at the behest of his sweet wife, and all goes downhill from there. Well written on every level. Funny, and yet deep and endearing at the same time.

Even if there was a death scene (which there wasn't), it could not compare to the World's Most Awesome Death Scene Ever in Code of Misconduct II. ;)

I bet if you submitted it to Ripley's Believe It Or Not, it'd get in the record books as Best Death Scene Ever.

I've seen pics. It's pretty darned gross, and cool, at the same time.

Yeah, but the book scene was even better, believe it or not - I knew it was coming somewhere, but the way it was written, and the way the characters carried it off...absolutely stunning. The entire scene was just spectacular.
