New Video Game Store in Hiram

Alright, it's been about 2-3 years since I last posted a lengthy review of pretty much anything online, past couple of years on YouTube and before that on Paulding.com, so here it goes:

Super Gater Gamz, a video game store, whose original store location, was in Newnan recently opened up a new store in Hiram next to Cheeseburger Bobby's. They sell games for just about every system known to man. They sell em for the Atari and all the way up to today's systems, and they sell them both new and used. They also sell movies on DVD and VHS, as well as music CD's and cassettes, and also something that they were breaking into since there was no competition in Hiram: Comic books... I will review based on 4 categories: Service, Prices, Trade-ins, Selection.

Selection:
They have a HUGE amount to pick from for fans of just about EVERY system. They have those who are old school die hard fans like me for the Atari, and then they have a big selection for the more casual XBOX 360 next gen fans. They also sell used VHS tapes, comic books, cassettes, Blu-Ray, DVDs, and music CDs, and they have a decent selection of those too. I believe in this store, they have something for everyone who plays video games, and watches movies.

Prices:
The prices in this store are generally lower than GameStop and Best Buy, and they are very reasonably priced. If the game you want is higher in this store, I believe I heard one of the guys behind the counter say "If we are more expensive then there, we will price match then 10% off", thus making this place the cheapest place to buy video games in town, and possibly the whole entire state. VHS tapes are generally usually $1, and DVDs and CDs I think are $2.99 or 4 for $10. This will be a great place for doorbusters and Black Friday, as the Newnan store always had great deals on Black Friday including 50% bonus in trades, buy 2 get 1 free, and even you could get a newly released game that sometimes was released the week before and you could get it there for $51.99 instead of $59.99 anywhere else. All in all, the prices here are cheap and very reasonable in all areas.

Trade-Ins:
Trade-in values are much more reasonable than Best Buy or GameStop for that matter, and right now they are doing a grand opening special get 50% extra in trades of anything. 50% extra at Super Gater Gamz is like 150% at GameStop, they are that reasonable. Yes, if you beat a newly-bought game within one week and traded it in that next week, Super Gater Gamz I'm sure would give you more than $25 for a $60 new game recently bought. You can also trade in DVDs, CDs, Cassettes, VHS tapes, and comic books and put it towards pretty much anything in the store. Pretty awesome, eh?

Service:
Throughout the past 2 years I've done business with these people, I've never left the place disappointed. Ever. Every time I've been in their stores both in Hiram and Newnan, they have been absolutely fantastic. They are very sincere and honest to the customer, they help the customers out the best way they can, and they give back to the people who do a lot of business with them. They are very sincere when explaining trade in values. These people really do go out of their way and make sure the customer is treated like customers and not like wallets like some other places. We don't see that type of practice of care towards customers very often nowadays, and these people are doing an absolutely fantastic job.

All in all, I give this place a good ol' 10 out of 10, fantastic service, big variety for everyone interested in entertainment/media, reasonable prices. Perfect place for doorbuster sales, awesome place to buy your kids Christmas gifts at, and fantastic place to trade in your old junk hidden in your basement over the past decade or two. :)

That's good to hear. We were at Cheeseburger Bobby's a few weeks ago and my son wanted to go in, but they weren't open yet. It's good to hear they take the older stuff, my son has a ton of PS2 stuff he wants to trade, but most places won't take that anymore. And, since he has to purchase a lot of his own game stuff, he buys used a good bit. He doesn't play games a lot, so it's not something we invest a lot of money in.

I'd suggest that your son keep that PS2...the trade in value might not be worth it...and PS3 is no longer backward compatible. They stopped that years ago, so they could charge us 10-15 to download PS2 games we already owned from the Playstation Network.

I think he's planning on keeping one, but he has an extra one or two. He also wanted to get rid of games he doesn't play.

Trade-in values right now they are doing a 50% extra special, so you if you want to trade it in, person above this post, you should do it soon. There is the best place to trade in used games and vhs tapes and such and get a new system your son really wants. On the other hand, if you decide to keep it, they have all types of games on PS2, I mean HUGE selection, with all reasonable prices...AWESOME! :) XD!

I didn't mean to suggest that the business would rip you off, just that Sony will sooner or later put up the games you love most on PSN and try to make you buy it.

On the other hand...I love my PS3, and I use it all the time for games and movies. A friend bought his family an Xbox and it crapped out after two hours. No troubles from Sony, and I've had a couple Playstations. I miss my PS2, but the favorite games from it are out for download...it just annoys me to buy them again.

I didn't think you suggested the business would rip us off. :huh

I know, but still making suggestions... Yeah, I don't like what Sony is doing with the PS1 classics online or the PS2 games they are uploading. They should at least have backwards compatibility with PS2 still...it's absolutely ridiculous.

We kinda alternate. We have the PS2s, Wii and Xbox 360 w/kinect.

That's cool. I have a 2600, a NES, an SNES a Sega Genesis, a Game Boy Advance, a PS2, an XBOX360, Wii, Wii U, PS1, N64, GameCube, 3DS, PS Vita. However I have games for 2600, NES, SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Sega Genesis, PS1, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, Sega Dreamcast, GameCube, Nintendo 64, Wii, Wii U, DS, 3DS, Vita all of which I can play on my systems in my collection and such...Own games both in English and Japanese...though I don't know how to read Japanese (can speak some, not much though).

My kids each have a DS and I think there's a game boy still in the house. He had an older PS handheld, but I have no idea where it is at.

Sweet stuff... There's a lot of good games for everyone on the DS and especially the Game Boy. I find the DS more innovating though cause of its bottom touch screen and pretty much the dual screen in general, cause the screens themselves on when I had the old model from 2004 (The BEST original DS model, due to the fact you can play pretty much anything on there, including Game Boy Advance games as well as the lack of Region lock, so you could play European or Japanese games on the system) I know it didn't have the camera at the time, but still, I loved being able to play whatever I felt like playing without all this app stuff like we have now. It was good and simple. DS and pretty much anything Nintendo has something for everyone, and they actually have a variety of games for everyone in their systems library and such.

We went in here today and traded some games in. I was surprised at how much we got. We traded about 3 Wii games and 4 PS3 games and with the bonus got $64 in-store credit. Without the bonus it still would have been $44! And they have reasonably priced games there too. With that $64, we got a ds game, a PS3 game, two Wii games and a corded headset for the PS3.
