As mentioned in the weekend thread, we got a copy of this in 3D Blue-ray from the UK. 3D is still popular in some countries. Being 3D junkies, we were excited to have a new 3D movie to watch.

The movie's ratings have only been fair. It's a very long movie at 3.5 hours, and probably too long. The first half of it is a little slow and hard to stay interested in. It does pick up later on as the plot starts to come together, and the action is quite good. Yeah, it has the same environmental overtones as the first one, but it's not terrible.

Overall, the movie was OK. Not great, but not bad. Worth watching, especially since it's streaming on some networks for free. The 3D in it was excellent; lots of depth and stuff out in the room. The video effects were also top notch. The audio effects were not great. 3D Blu-ray discs usually don't have an Atmos track, and this one was no exception. The excuse is that they don't have room for the Atmos track because of the extra data for the 3D, but I think it's more to push 4K on us. The audio track will likely be better on 4K media.

We're glad we watched it because it was good 3D, but the movie itself is just fair. 3 out of 5 speakers.
