Lenovo laptop

Anyone know anything about this brand? I understand it used to be Ibm and the chinese bought it. I am looking to replace my laptop and don't want to spend alot. I am lookind at the thinkpad edge 530. About $525 on officemax website. Just interested if anyone has any experience with that brand.

Pc world gave it a best buy award and gave it a 4 out 5 stars review. Users gave it a 4 1/2 out of 5.
 
Actually, it was a division of Acer, who built IBM's laptops for over 10 years. IBM wanted to get out of consumer PC's completely, so they worked out a deal with Acer to spin off that division to form a new company. Not sure of if or when China may have bought the company.

They are a cheap, no thrills or extra bells and whistle, type of company with a pretty good product from what I have read. I have used Acer products for many years.
 
We use Lenovo laptops at work. They seem pretty solid. Better than HP or Toshiba laptops in my opinion.
 
I have had one for 2 years now and no problems. A key did break off, but other than that, I like it.
