Leahy expected to preside over Trump impeachment trial instead of Chief Justice Roberts

Our current rulers don't need it anymore. They own all branches of government, so they can do as they please without consequence. Any complaints will be dealt with as domestic terrorism, inciting riots, hate crimes, etc.

That's the way communism works...

Would you want to have one of your most fervent accusers (in this case Senator Leahy, D-VT) preside over your trial?

How can a person charging you with a crime be a judge in a proceeding of your guilt or innocence?

The Constitution says the chief justice must preside of the impeachment trial of a president. There's a reason why Roberts refuses. Is it because the Constitution says president and not former or future president? Nowhere in the Constitution does it state a member of the Senate can preside over the trial. I wish Roberts as the chief justice would come out and state why he refuses to preside.
