I know! I've been following this with horror! My FIL lives in Fort Collins, and he said the smoke was coming into the Home Depot store where he works. :(

This is just scary - I watched it on CNN for a little while last night. I'm praying for rain for them - the Lord knows I don't need pretty grass as much as they just need rain to put out the fires there. We may be in a drought, but we are truly blessed.

Fox is saying that the fire in Colorado Springs doubled in size last night and has entered the city itself. This is horrible. They evacuated an additional 32,000 residents.

wow....I know I was praying for the Colorado fires then a friend of mine ask me to pray over his home in FLA.....with the flooding going on and his son was forced to leave his home with only what he could tote in his arms...including their little puppy....Prayers going up all over the world....

:pray Prying for rain and no wind or lightning.

My mom went through an evacuation in 2007. Same conditions as these. Hot, dry, and lots of wind

My cousin's house was first to be evacuated, so she got a hotel for her family. Two days into the fires, approximately 500,000 people from at least 346,000 homes were under mandatory orders to evacuate... about that time my aunt, uncle, and mom had to evacuate... by then there were no hotels...so they all smashed together in the hotel room my cousin got, until they were allowed to go home several days later. They are together weekly at my cousin’s for dinner and hanging out anyway - so everything was fine... they did not drive each other nuts :D ... but there was fear that no one would have a house. Just like these Colorado fires, they were all over the county.

My mom’s place had soot and ash everywhere. She should have had her carpets cleaned. We finally replaced them... when you walked barefoot, your feet were stained from the ash...it was gross.

She had wiped down everything, but two years later when we painted, several times my brush came up with ash on it!

The fire can be a few miles away and damage your stuff when it is this large - damage you don't even think of! When there is that much in the air...it affects everything I feel so badly for these families!

I am praying, these families are facing a horror. RNG, that pic is very, very scary.

Also praying for the folks in Florida, too bad that tropical storm didn't go that way. At least it's gone out of Florida now and is over the ocean. ~~sigh~~

My hubby went to USAFA... he has been watching closely now that that has been evacuated

wow...sad

Dear Jesus be with those people...let the community come together and help heal one another

It is so sad! One of BBG's old coworkers and his pregnant wife are being evacuated. It is very scary to leave your home knowing that it may be in the line of fire!

Here is the latest one he posted and what he said to go with it

This is a picture of Colorado Springs as the homes were burning to the ground.... As of right now the exact number of homes destroyed is unknown but it is said to be hundreds upon hundreds of homes... Please keep them in your prayers, they need them for sure!

Those pictures are unbelievable! They definitely need our prayers.

Have there been deaths?

I haven't seen any reports of any but I am not sure on that

Terrible situation, I just got home and coming down 61 I noticed a large plume of black smoke over the Cochran road area, so I drove down Cochran rd. and saw a small plane circling around the source of the smoke which was coming from the pipeline that runs somewhat parallel with the power lines.
I do not know what was burning but I could tell it was large enough to warrant a plane to circle around it.
