Johnny J has passed

I just felt as though this deserved his own thread. Johnny was a ray of sunshine and had a great heart. He will be missed by all.

LPPT posted that the family is requesting donations in lieu of flowers at Benson Funeral Home.

Always a class act. I enjoyed my discussions with him; we often disagreed but he did it with grace and I respected that. He will be missed.

I have been off the chat boards awhile.. what was wrong?

He was such a sweet man

JohnnyJ was a good man. Lived his whole life in Paulding County, was known and loved by many. I didn't realize until I went to help with his trailer after the first fire that my son and his marched together at PCHS, they both played trumpet. They were pretty good friends, I almost fell over when I saw him at JJs. LOL

He will be missed and the entire community has been a better place if Johnny touched their lives. RIP my friend. :pray

May God wrap his loving arms around his family in this time of sorrow.

He was a good man and kept it friendly when in disagreement.

He will be greatly missed in Paulding. He had a big heart and a quick wit. I had a lot of respect for Johnny J. Prayers for his family. Sadie he had lung cancer.

I didn't know him, but by all accounts, he was a wonderful man. How great that so many are grieved by his passing. The real tragedy would have been if he were lying on a slab at the morgue and nobody cared enough to even claim him (which I know of happening to at least two people of my acquaintance). Prayers for his family and friends.

I hope it brings comfort to the family to know how respected and loved he was among his fellow citizens.

Oh gosh. He was here posting recently! May he rest in peace. :(

I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but we exchanged posts many times and as many have already said, even if it was a subject we had differences about, Johnny J was always gracious and polite. I would say those times were few and far between because the majority of our exchanges were related to light hearted subjects.

That says SO much for the character of a man. I wish there were more like him. I pray that God will give his family peace and comfort in this difficult time. I am happy Johnny saw fit to join the Hwy family even if his visit was a short one. :'(

I couldn't agree more. Always a gracious gentleman. RIP
