Intermittent fasting linked to 91% increase in risk of death from heart disease, study says

I started intermittent fasting last Friday, not necessarily to lose weight (which isn’t a bad idea) but to give it time to purge excess sugar after getting a 7.9 A1C score on my latest test results. Time to get serious about my diet and food intake. My issue isn’t necessarily what I eat but how much I eat during each meal. I’ve always been a fast eater and was raised to eat everything on my plate. The problem is I’m normally done first so I go for seconds (or thirds). We really don’t eat much junk, I rarely have a soda or chips but I like bread, cakes, cookies, and ice cream. We eat early, normally by 6pm and I don’t really snack afterwards. Now I only have water or black coffee between dinner and lunch, which is normally walnuts, blueberries, and strawberries. I then eat a normal dinner but limit myself to only one plate and try to limit bread and potatoes.

I just finished today’s lunch which was actually leftover corn beef, cabbage, carrots, and onions from our St Patty’s dinner. It was much better than walnuts and berries. I skipped the bread and potatoes. Funny though, I wasn’t even hungry.

I have done intermittent fasting. I wouldn't eat anything between 8:30 pm to 11:30 am. I will probably start that again.

How many of those in that study were on intermittent fasting because they did have heart disease?

So far I’ve not had any trouble going from 6pm in the evening until 1pm the following day other than boredom from breaking the habit off eating. On day 5 with the goal of going for three months.

Calories in Calories out. I think there are many ways to nourish your body. Lots of ideas for dieting.

I have heard the cereal companies were the ones who marketed the "breakfast is the most important meal of the day."

My father never ate breakfast, and I have never been a person to eat breakfast. I feel sluggish when I do.

I usually have a salad or something small at lunch then a larger meal for dinner when I can relax and enjoy it.
